Education, experience and maturity
“I have practiced law in Alabama for 32 years with extensive experience in District Court proceedings. Because of my education, I have represented a very diverse group of clients. My life experience in marriage, child rearing, community and church involvement give me the maturity to make the difficult decisions facing a judge in a contested divorce case involving children and/or significant marital assets. Because of my tax law and bankruptcy law experience, I am keenly aware of the impact those issues may have in divorce proceedings."
“I have represented clients in misdemeanor cases, traffic cases, preliminary hearings, DUI cases, applications for youthful offender status, non-payment of child support, landlord-tenant disputes, civil cases and petitions for custody. I have also represented clients in matters of taxation, collection, bankruptcy, commercial and residential real estate matters, domestic relations, personal injury, wills, estates, trusts, probate matters, workers compensation, formation of all types of business entities and preparing contracts.”
Reported case: 420 So.2d 400, Hannah vs. Brown (Ala Cir.)
This appellate ruling was established in 1982 to measure damages in motor vehicle accidents. James E. Cox took a case up on appeal in Alabama that established the measure of damages in difference of before- and after-market value plus incidental expenses. Prior to this decision, the defense bar and judiciary thought measure was the difference before and after the accident with no extra damages taken into account. Contact James E.
